A group of local artists are hoping that they can do the Lake District justice with a new exhibition.

The team at Halecat Arts and Crafts are once again hosting their open studios for 2024, coming a month later this year on May 4 and 5.

This will feature art exclusively made at Halecat House in Witherslack, combining residents' creativity with the beauty of their surroundings.

The group commented: "Our studios will be open to browse, chat, purchase direct and be inspired, with food and refreshments also available in the courtyard.

"Come and spend some time in the beautiful surrounds - we would love to see you."

The open studios typically happen three times a year, with the others planned for September and Christmas.

As well as paintings and drawings, the studios embrace other forms of creativity and craftsmanship, such as woodworking and pottery.

Those involved include Edward Carefoot Furniture, a crafter who creates contemporary furniture which is locally and sustainably sourced, and Fiona Clucas, a painter who dedicates most of her work to the landscape of the Lake District.

Danny Clahane will be showcasing more of his popular stone sculptures, whilst the likes of Ben McLeod will also be paying tribute to Cumbria through his art.
