Catbells collectively garnered a total of 32 posts, with seven at sunset and 25 at sunrise.

The top-rated location to watch the sun set is Mount Snowdon in Wales.

With the #SnowdonSunset and #SnowdonSunset hashtags the mountain gathered a total of 2,585 posts.

Although an exceedingly popular spot for walkers throughout the year, Snowdon took first place due to its panoramic views at sunset.

In second spot was Mam Tor, in the Peak District, with combined sunrise and sunset posts of 996.

Sandbanks in Dorset clinched the third position in the list, with a total of 849 posts.

Curiously the sunset posts for the spot scored substantially higher with 790 posts, while the sunrise posts were much fewer, tallying just 59 posts.

Perranporth, Bamford Edge, Watergate Bay, Curbar Edge, Rhossili Bay and Baslow Edge rounded off the top 10 ahead of Catbells.

Author and hiking enthusiast at Blacks, Ethan Ball, has shared their top safety tips for sunrise and sunset viewing.

Firstly, he advises layering clothing due to fluctuating temperatures between daytime and nighttime.

Checking the weather and taking waterproof layers, if needed, is also recommended.

For those venturing out pre-sunrise or post-sunset, Ball stresses the importance of carrying a well-charged torch, taking precautions against tripping or falling, and avoiding standing too close to cliffs or edges.

Wearing sun protection and suitable footwear, taking food and water, and letting someone know your plans before leaving are also recommended.

Lastly, he encourages people to respect their locations, its wildlife, by sticking to designated paths, minimising noise, and always taking litter home.
