A beloved landmark is opening up access to the Lake District like never before.

Rydal Hall, near Ambleside, unveiled the latest addition to its accommodation this week.

Visitors will now have the chance to stay in new cabins placed across the 30-acre site allowing them to experience the outdoor beauty of the region while retaining a modicum of comfort.

Nigel Evans, the general manager at Rydal Hall, said: "The cabins are based in the campsite in the peace and tranquillity of the grounds of our hall.

"They offer a quiet getaway, the perfect place where you can take a deep breath and relax."

Each cabin can sleep up to four people with a king-size bed inside, along with a daybed.

Being at the heart of the Lake District, the new additions to Rydal Hall have come with a focus on sustainability and ensuring they are as environmentally friendly as possible.

"They have lights and the facility to charge phones and other devices by USB which is powered using solar panels outside," Mr Evans explained.

"There are also cooking facilities at each cabin and, of course, we can't ignore the amazing views that come with staying here."

The cabins are the latest addition to the hall's popular campsite, complimenting further accommodation in the couch house, bunkhouse, cottage, eco pods, and the hall itself.

The campsite acts as an ideal base for families and solo explorers looking to venture deeper into the Lake District.

"It is a great place to come and explore the area, thanks to an abundance of hiking trails," Mr Evans said.

"Or you can simply sit and enjoy the beautiful scenery and grounds of Rydal Hall."

Bookings are now being accepted for the cabins - if interested, you can call the reservations team on 01539432050 or email mail@rydalhall.org for more details.
