THE Northbound carriageway on the M6 has reopened after a lorry overturned yesterday leading to a subsequent diesel spill.
The northbound between Junction 39 (Shap) and Junction 40 (Penrith), along with lane 2 southbound, are now open.
However, lane 3 remains closed for reservation repairs.
The incident, caused by an overturned HGV yesterday, led to prolonged standstill traffic, requiring overnight work from emergency services.
Despite the closures, no significant delays are currently reported.
Emergency resurfacing is complete on the #M6 northbound between J39 #Shap & J40 #Penrith which has now re-opened, lane 2 southbound is also now open.
