Oldham Athletic's game away to Halifax will be played at Chesterfield on Thursday (April 18), kick-off 7.45pm.

The fixture should have been played last week but was subject to a second postponement due to a waterlogged pitch, leaving Halifax with a backlog of games going into the final week of the season, with all remaining home games needing to be relocated.

Two of them were moved to Accrington Stanley, who were keen to host all three, but The Oldham Times understands Lancashire Police were reluctant to let a potentially crucial fixture which has attracted a big away following go ahead in their region.

Instead, the game will be played at National League champions Chesterfield’s SMG Group Stadium.

An update from Oldham Athletic reads: "Details of our rearranged away National League fixture against Halifax Town can now been confirmed.

"The match will take place on Thursday 18 April, kick-off 7.45pm, and will be held at Chesterfield’s SMG Group Stadium.

"The fixture was most recently due to take place last Wednesday but was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and has now been moved away from the Shay due to the continued difficulties with the pitch.

"Supporters should note this fixture remains all ticket with no option to pay on the day at the ground.

"Tickets already purchased by supporters for the fixture on earlier dates will remain valid for the rearranged game.

"Sales are available in person from the Latics Ticket Office and online at tickets.latics.co.uk.

"The Ticket Office will open for additional hours on Wednesday between 10am-4pm.

"Supporters who require a refund for either a match ticket or coach seat should visit the Ticket Office or email supporter.services@oldhamathletic.co.uk.

"Details regarding stand allocations, coach times and further information will be released on Monday."
