South Lakes police have issued a warning about cold calling fraudsters operating in the Milnthorpe area.
The force says it has had a number of concerns regarding people carrying out expensive, and in some cases, unnecessary work by door to door selling i.e. cold calling.
As part of a Facebook post, an officer said: "Other individuals have been calling on the elderly claiming that they are from the fraud squad and insisting that they remove their money out of the their account and transfer the funds into an account they specify.
"These people also dictate what to tell the bank and tell you not to tell anyone about it. These people are fraudsters and not from the fraud squad. If in doubt ask a relative or call 101.
"Please look out for your vulnerable relatives and help them understand the above."
PCSO Hayley will be holding a drop in at Booths In Milnthorpe on Saturday, April 20 at 1.30 -3.30.
