TWO mountain rescue teams responded to a man with an ankle injury in a Lake District fell.
Whilst descending Pike O' Stickle with his friends, a man slipped and tumbled down sustaining a knee injury and being unable to move up or down on the afternoon of Thursday, April 18.
Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team realised because they were low on numbers and the amount of time it would take them to reach, extract and evacuate people from the 'tricky locations', they also needed the assistance of Kendal Mountain Search and Rescue Team.
A member of the team said: "A rope system was put in place to bring the casualty back up to safe ground, where they were put on a stretcher and sledged down to Mickleden. The team then transported them to Chapel Stile for transfer to an awaiting ambulance.
"We would like to wish both of our casualties a speedy recovery and hope they can get back in the hills again soon. We love to hear feedback from those we rescue, so a huge thank you to the casualty from Wednesday, who wrote an absolutely glowing report.
"Thanks again to Kendal MRT, who provided invaluable support."
