With summer just around the corner thoughts are turning to those long sunlit evenings when the Lake District is truly magical.
One of the best ways to enjoy that world class scenery, with a setting sun glinting off the Lakeland fells, is to head out onto the water at Windermere for an evening Buffet Cruise.
This year’s Buffet Cruises with Windermere Lake Cruises, on England’s largest natural lake, return on Saturday, June 1 – earlier than usual due to popular demand.
Organisers have unveiled a new line-up of local musical talent on this year’s cruises including singer and guitarist Fiona Music in the Lakes, singer Becki Fishwick, the Badman Soul Duo and the trio Hush.
The Evening Buffet Cruise is a perfect way to spend a romantic evening with a loved one or to enjoy a night out with friends or family. As you glide across the tranquil waters of Windermere, you're treated to breath-taking views of the surrounding hills and valleys, while enjoying a sumptuous, two course cold buffet dinner. There’s also a fully licensed bar and a dance floor later in the cruise.

Setting sail at 7pm, each Saturday from June 1 to August 31, the Evening Buffet Cruise will treat passengers onboard the steamers MVs Teal and Swan to the perfect way to enjoy the summer holiday season. Each week a different band or singer will perform a selection of music as the vessel cruises the entire length of Windermere over the two-and-a-half hour trip.
When you live in or near the Lake District there’s a danger of taking the world class scenery for granted. But an evening cruise like this allows you to truly appreciate what Cumbria has to offer. You would be hard pressed to find something that stimulates so many senses all at once – be it your eyes with the scenery, your tastebuds with the wonderful food or your ears with live, captivating music!

All prices include the full lake cruise, live music, two-course buffet and tea and coffee.
Alcoholic drinks are also available for purchase from the fully licensed bar, while well-behaved dogs with an appreciation for good rhythms are also welcome onboard.
