Westmorland and Furness Council has revealed the details of opening times, out of hours contacts and other relevant information you may need over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

While they will continue to provide key services, some offices will be closed on Monday May 27 2024.

The main switchboard number will close at 5pm on Friday May 24 and will have an out of hours message advising of the closure period and contact numbers for Highways, Homelessness, Adults and Children’s Social Care should anyone be calling about an emergency.

If you live in the Eden or Barrow areas, there will be no changes to bin collections days across the Bank Holiday weekend and all Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) will be open as usual.

If you live in the South Lakeland area and your bin is scheduled to be collected on Bank Holiday Monday, your collection will be made on the following day, Tuesday May 28. All collections through the week will then be one day later than normal.

To find out the opening times and activities on offer at individual leisure centres’, please check their websites.

When offices for Health, Children's Services and Social Care are closed, an out of hours number will be available in case of emergency. You can find more information on the Westmorland and Furness website.
