A MAN who allegedly placed an electronic device to cause a bomb scare is to go on trial next week.
Michael Wilson, of Wilson Street in Ulverston, is charged with placing an improvised electrical device at Steel Street, Ulverston, on December 6 last year.
The 46-year-old man is said to have done so with the intention of inducing another to believe that it was likely to explode or ignite and cause personal injury or damage to the property.
Mr Wilson pleaded not guilty to the bomb hoax charge via video link at Preston Crown Court on January 5.
He was remanded into custody and will appear in court for the start of his trial commencing on June 3, which is scheduled to last between three to four days.
