Drivers in and around south Cumbria will have four National Highways roadworks to watch out for this week.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M6, from 8pm June 9 to 7pm June 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 36 to 37, Lane three closure for cyclic activities safety fence, drainage, sign, electrical, soft estate and sweeping and litter maintenance and asset inspections.

• A590, from 9am June 3 to 6am July 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Cross-A-Moor Roundabout Ulverston to Lindal in Furness, traffic signals for renewal of Ulverston Weather Station.

A further two will begin over the next two weeks:

• A590, from 8pm June 14 to 5am June 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 westbound, M6, junction 36 to Brettargh Holt, Lane one closure and carriageway closure for resurfacing to the carriageway.

• A590, from 9.30am June 18 to 3.30pm June 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Newby Bridge, traffic signals for SU works (ENW).

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
