A MOTORIST was caught drunk in charge of a vehicle on the A590.
Gary Streets was charged with the offence after police found he was more than double the drink drive limit.
The 44-year-old pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared before South Cumbria Magistrates' Court.
He was said to have been in charge of a Vauxhall Corse at Newby Bridge and had 84 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, over the limit of 35.
Streets, of Wensum Lea on Walney, was fined £200 by magistrates.
He was also handed ten penalty points and told to pay a £80 victim surcharge and £80 in costs.
