Dazzling replicas of the Crown Jewels stopped shoppers in their tracks in a special display to celebrate the Golden Jubilee.
Made of gold and silver-plated brass and set with Austrian crystals and cubic zirconias, the replica crowns, sceptres and swords went on show at the Westmorland Shopping Centre in Kendal for a week.
The glittering replicas are made by Nicolaus and Suzan Findeisen, of London-based company Crowns and Regalia, to resemble the real jewels in the Tower of London as closely as possible.
However, a fault is deliberately built into each piece that only an expert could spot.
Martin Pickering, operations supervisor at the shopping centre, said: "Reaction has been very good from the people who came in to look at them, of which there were a considerable number." Pictured with the Crown Jewels replicas are, from left, Kendal sword bearer Geoffrey Abbott in his Beefeater uniform, Kendal honorary citizen Percy Duff, and Mayor of Kendal Avril Dobson.
