THE popular farmers market is set to make a regular return to Lancaster.
The farmers market, which will be held on the second Wednesday in the month with the next one taking place on July 10.
It will be based in Market Square.
Organised by Lancaster City Council, it will offer shoppers a chance to talk to the very people who have produced the food they will be buying.
It will include various stalls selling farm fresh produce ranging from beef and lamb to ostrich meat, cakes and eggs to yoghurts and honey.
Farmer and Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Cllr James Airey said: "For too long there has been a gap between plough and plate.
Farmers are all for bridging that gap and consumers are taking an increasing interest in buying direct from the farmer.
The return of the Lancaster's Farmers Market is therefore good news for the farmers and the public."
