Local MP Tim Farron is raising money for a Cumbrian charity ahead of his London Marathon attempt later this year.

The MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale confirmed recently that he would be taking on the 26.2 mile challenge in the capital on April 27, 2025.

He is aiming to raise £10k for Growing Well, and has already brought in over £800 in donations.

Tim Farron said: "Growing Well is an amazing mental health charity based in Cumbria, with sites at Tebay Services, Egremont and Sizergh near Kendal.

"For the past 20 years, the charity has supported people's mental health by getting them gardening and growing vegetables.

"I'm proud to be taking on the London Marathon this year to raise money for Growing Well - please give generously."
