A life painting workshop is set to take place in Kendal this weekend.
The event will be held in Studio 3 at the Brewery Arts Centre on Saturday, May 24.
Under the guidance of Catherine MacDiarmid, participants will paint directly from a life model.
With 29 years of teaching experience, MacDiarmid is a practising artist known for her range of exhibitions.
She has shown her work at the BP Portrait in 2001/2002, the New Light Art Tour 2021/2022 and 2023/2024, and regularly at the Mall Galleries.
She is also a member of the Lakes Artists Society and the Contemporary British Portrait Painters, and her work is collected internationally.
The workshop will include a series of poses between 20 minutes and 2-3 hours long.
Participants will have the opportunity to develop a longer painting and will be guided throughout the session to achieve their desired outcomes.
The workshop is open to anyone over 16 years old and will start at 11.30am.
Tickets for the workshop cost £66.
Participants are required to bring their own materials, including a basic range of paints, appropriate surfaces, a range of brushes, pots for water or solvents, and material rags.
Oil painters are advised to bring additional materials, such as solvent for diluting paint and washing brushes, linseed oil or oil medium, a palette knife, and a flat palette for mixing colours.
