A man and his 'remarkable' dog have become the first pair on record to complete a challenge in the Lake District.
Will Barton, based in Staveley, has recently completed all 648 Synge fells alongside dog Willow.
The Synge fells are a comprehensive list compiled by Tim Synge in his book The Lakeland Summits and include all the peaks in the Lake District over 300 metres with a minimum drop of 30 metres on all sides.
Will said: "What makes this milestone even more special is Willow’s story. A few years ago she suffered a serious leg break and at one point we weren’t sure she’d ever return to the fells again, let alone tackle a challenge of this scale.
"But she’s made a remarkable recovery and her spirit on the fells is as strong as ever."

Will is a member of Ambleside AC and exploring the fells has become a part of his and Willow's daily lives.
It is not the first challenge that the duo have completed having also conquered the Wainwrights, Outlying Wainwrights, Birketts, the Dales 30, Fellrangers, and many other long-distance and hill lists across the North.
Will added: "While the Wainwrights are well known, the Synge list presents a much broader and more intricate challenge, often involving obscure, pathless, and remote hills that demand careful navigation and real determination.
"It’s been a journey not just of endurance but also of companionship, resilience, and a deep love for the Lakeland fells.
"It's not just a fell running accomplishment, but a testament to recovery and the lesser known challenges that the Lake District still holds."
The Lakeland Summits was published in March 1995 with Will and Willow's success coinciding with the 30th anniversary of Synge's work.
