South Lakes club launches new website for retired men

A South Lakes club has launched a new website for retired men in the area to encourage new members to join.

Kentside Probus Club is mounting an advertising campaign to target men who want to meet new friends and enjoy a variety of activities. 

The club meets once a month at Crooklands Hotel and organises social activities in between.

Nigel Martin, joint chairman, said: "After I retired, I needed to develop a new social circle outside of work and develop my interests - Probus has been great helping me do that.

"They organise ice curling, ten pin bowling, bowls and other activities depending on what the members are interested in.

"Everyone is encouraged to have a go whatever their skill or experience, and we also organise events to support a chosen charity each year."

This year, Kentside Probus Club is supporting St John’s Hospice through its fundraising efforts.
