The chance to run a Post Office in a scenic Lake District village is now up for grabs, as applications are now open for prospective postmasters.
The Post Office is now actively looking for people who would be interested in running a local branch in the idyllic village of Hawkshead, with a closing date for applications for the role being next month, on October 10.

It also said that communication skills, such as being able to converse and listen well to staff and customers alike, are vital for the role.
Prospective postmasters will need to have an entrepreneurial spirit and be able to hire and train staff in the branch, too.
The Post Office local franchise in question will be incorporated into what is described as “a vibrant and sustainable retail business”, with the layout of the shop being open to some discussion.
Furthermore, the advertisement for the role notes that the estimated Post Office fees for where the franchise is located are between £12,000 and £15,000 per annum – these are estimates, however.
