HAVE you tried this short but sweet Lake District walk?

Looking for a quick and comfortable Lake District walk? If you're a fan of variety and serene views, then the Rydal Water circular via Rydal Cave is the one for you.

It features the very best of the Lake District - caves, lakes, hills, forests, and wildlife - what more could you want?

Walk details

The walk is around 10km and takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes from start to finish.

I tackled this walk with my partner on a wet and foggy Spring day and thoroughly enjoyed it. Although it's relatively easy, when walking in the Lakes, always make sure to bring appropriate footwear and clothes, food and drinks, and other supplies like a torch and portable charger.

We followed Andrew Walks' 'Rydal Water Circular' route on OS Maps. We parked at White Moss Car Park and followed Andrew's recommendation of starting the route at Pelter Bridge. We then followed Loughrigg Terrace above Rydal Water and returned via the old Coffin Road.

Enjoy!
