An author in south Cumbria is tasting an unexpected level of international success after releasing his latest book.

John Barrow, a retired public health and airline food safety consultant, has been using his spare time in the Lake District to put pen to page and, earlier this month, released 'Murder on the Forbidden Islands'.

When five young students travel to the islands, they discover the reason behind its namesake and subsequently face a fight for survival - with two twin sisters learning more about themselves along the way too.

John said: "It’s aimed at teenagers or young adults, but could appeal to romantically inclined adults too.

"I’m pleased to report that sales have been good since it went live just under a week ago and that, very strangely, most of the sales have been in the USA, followed by the UK and Mexico."

More details about John's latest offering can be found via online retailers now.
