Jules B's Menswear and Ladieswear stores in Kendal have closed their doors to customers with immediate effect.

Jules B has had a retail presence in the town for over two decades.

It also has retail premises in Newcastle where the business was founded by the husband-and-wife duo Julian and Rhona Blades.

However on Monday Jules B staff could be seen packing up clothes into boxes.

The stores, which are opposite each other at 42-44 Finkle Street and 2-6 Stramongate, also displayed statement posters with the heading, “A Heartfelt Farewell to Kendal”.

The farewell statement reads: “With great sadness, we must close our Kendal stores due to the ongoing challenges of the economic climate.

“We want to thank all our wonderful customers for their loyalty, friendship, and support over the past twenty years – Kendal has truly meant the world to us.

“You can still shop with us online at julesb.co.uk, where our journey together continues.

“With love and gratitude, the Jules B Team.”

It was only in October last year that Jules B celebrated its 40th anniversary as an operating business.

Both stores in Kendal hosted special anniversary events to mark the occasion.

The independent retail brand remains online and the Newcastle stores remain open.
