A North Lancashire caravan park has been named among the best in the country this year.

Old Hall Caravan Park at Capernwray has won the coveted title of AA Campsite of the Year North West England for 2025/26.

The award is part of the AA Caravan and Camping Awards.

Inspectors noted that the campsite, which is situated near Carnforth, is fantastic because of its ‘tranquil setting surrounded by woodland’.

They also highlighted the park’s modern amenities and its brilliant laundry facilities.

Additionally, the AA stated that there is also plenty of space for outdoor activities, including access to a football pitch for a kick-about, and a play area.

Writing about the Old Hall Caravan Park, the AA said: “This peaceful park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, and there are marked walks in the woods.

“A pathway over a meandering brook through woodland separates the reception from the touring area.

“All pitches are fully serviced and the stylish amenity block contains superb combined shower, toilet and washbasin rooms with excellent fixtures and fittings.”

Taking to Facebook, Old Hall Caravan Park said that they were ‘absolutely delighted’ to win the award.

The park has 38 total touring pitches, 260 total static pitches, as well as caravan and motorhome pitches available too.

Winning at the AA Caravan and Camping Awards is one of the most distinguished achievements a business in the leisure and tourism industry can claim.

Taking home the major prize of AA Holiday Park of the Year for 2025/26 was Haven’s Hopton Holiday Village near Great Yarmouth.
