A Windermere cruise company is appealing for people to come forward who may know more about a memorial bench that washed up on the lakeshore this morning.

Windermere Lake Cruises found the bench earlier today (November 17) on the Waterhead shoreline.

The memorial bench is inscribed with the words ‘In Memory of Dennis Wall’.

Taking to the social media platform Facebook, Windermere Lake Cruises posted an appeal to the public.

They wrote: “It’s clearly something very special and we’d love to reunite it with Dennis’ family so it can be returned to its rightful place.

“If you recognise this name or know who it may belong to, please get in touch.”

You can contact the cruise company on their Facebook page, call them on 015394 43360, or email them at info@windermere-lakecruises.co.uk.
