Westmorland and Furness Council are set its final informal drop-in sessions to hear from locals on the design code for all buildings in the area, from new homes and conversions to businesses and shopfronts.
The next drop-in session will be held at Victoria Hall in Grange-over-Sands on Thursday, November 27 from 3-6.45pm.
Westmorland and Furness Council said: “We want local people and those with local knowledge to help us shape the design code. When completed, this document will help ensure a consistent approach to new developments across Westmorland and Furness so they are in keeping and appropriate for their location.
“The design code will apply to the whole of Westmorland and Furness except for those areas in the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, which have their own guidance. It will be used by developers and anyone putting in a planning application, to help them prepare applications by using the relevant section of the code, which covers new homes (on greenfield and brownfield sites), businesses, replacement dwellings, shopfronts, house extensions and barn conversions.”
