A new addition to Kendal’s high street has opened.
Luxury ladies fashion shop MOODY MUU Boutique opened on March 6, moving into a vacant unit on Finkle Street.
The store, which has relocated from Bowness, is promising to bring a price point that suits Kendal’s shoppers.
Owner Janice Dickens said: “There’ll be sort of a luxury feel with a price point to suit everybody.
“It’s all ladies fashion. We’ve got shoes, handbags, jewellery, accessories. All that sort of thing, we’re a one stop shop."
For Janice, the opening will be tinged with a bit of sadness as her late mother wanted to see the shop coming to Kendal.
She added: “I’m from Kendal but I had a lot of ladies from Kendal coming into the shop in Bowness.
“My mum wanted me to come back to Kendal so that’s what we did. Unfortunately, the sad thing is, my mum passed away in October, so she didn’t get to see it.”
It’s also a challenging period for the high street but there is plenty of optimism about the prospects of MOODY MUU.
“It’s a funny time for the high street but I’m very excited about it,” Janice added.
“When the customer comes in, they’ll get a warm welcome and they can get as much help or as little help as they want.
“We’re not this place where you get pestered or anything like that, there’ll be a really nice, warm, chilled atmosphere.”
MOODY MUU Boutique will be open in its new location of 39 Finkle Street from Monday to Saturday.
