A literary afternoon brought storytelling and history to life for a community of Kendal residents.
A talk by award-winning historical fiction author Deborah Swift was held at Eddington Lodge in the heart of Kendal, where Ms Swift spoke about her debut novel, The Lady’s Slipper.
She shared the inspiration, research, and writing process behind the story, which is set in and around Kendal and rooted in the history of Old Westmorland.
Ms Swift, who answered questions during a Q&A session, sold copies of her book, signed editions, and spent time chatting with attendees.
Caroline Haswell, senior divisional marketing manager at Churchill Living, said: “The event was an absolute success.
"It was a pleasure to host Debroah at Eddington Lodge, these sorts of events always bring people together.
"It was also a lovely way to celebrate the community our Owners are part of and get people talking about local culture. The afternoon was truly inspiring and entertaining.”
