A BARROW man has been charged with raping a woman in Cumbria.

Joshua Culshaw, of Romney Road, appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on April 22.

Due to being an indictable only offence, the 29-year-old was not offered the opportunity to enter a plea to the offence.

Culshaw is alleged to have committed the offence in Spark Bridge.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Preston Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on May 20.
