A veteran mountaineer is set to share stories from his decades of climbing in some of the world’s most remote regions.
Simon Yates, best known for his role in the dramatic true story behind Touching the Void, will return to Brewery Arts in Kendal on Wednesday, April 29, for a 7.30pm talk titled Pleasure and Pain.
The talk will focus on Mr Yates’s climbing experiences from the past 10 years, spanning the far north and south, South America, Central Asia, and the Himalayas.
As part of the event, he will recount a 2023 expedition with British mountaineer Mick Fowler, in which the pair attempted the unclimbed north face of Patkhor in Tajikistan.
The pair endured a series of misfortunes, including food poisoning, running out of food, and Mr Yates falling 100 metres during their descent.
Tickets are priced at £21 for adults and £20 for under-18s.
Remaining tickets are available on the Kendal Brewery Arts website.
