A Lake District museum is seeking a talented filmmaker for an exciting new project.
The Wordsworth Trust is seeking an audio-visual production company to create a new interpretive film.
The film will be focused on the museum at Wordsworth Grasmere and the guide price for the contract is £37,500 including VAT.
Organisers hope it will enhance visitor engagement with the wider collection in the same way as the site’s existing introductory film for Dove Cottage.
A spokesman for the Wordsworth Trust said: "An introductory film was added to the Wordsworth Grasmere visitor experience in 2020. It has transformed how we interpret Dove Cottage and deepened visitors’ engagement with one of the world’s most famous literary shrines.
"We now seek to build on this success by creating a film that can provide a similar depth of engagement with our Museum and internationally-significant collection, which currently experience a lower level of public awareness than Dove Cottage, but which offer rich opportunities for engagement, connection and storytelling for a range of audiences."
"A Tale in Every Thing" is the creative brief for a digital interpretation job, and the trust is inviting proposals from audio-visual companies—especially those with experience in museum and heritage content.
Any companies interested in applying for the £37.5k invited to send a detailed budget for the work, including a breakdown of fees and an allocation of time for each member of the proposed team.
Applicants' quotation fees should be inclusive of VAT and all expenses.
The deadline for submitting proposals is Sunday 19 July 2026, 9AM (BST).
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to follow-up online conversations during the week beginning Monday, July 27, 2026.
The project must be completed by the week ending Friday, March 26, 2027.
