OFFICERS in Penrith have warned that anti-social driving could lead to cars being seized as residents report an engine being revved and loud music playing at the town's car wash.
Residents reported in a recent street survey that a vehicle has been vising the car wash on Haweswater Road, Penrith, the driver revving its engine, sounding its horn, shouting and playing loud music.
PCSO Powell and CBO Cook have been made aware of the issue after reviewing survey responses and warn that "if it continues, we will take further action" using CCTV footage.
"Although it may not look like it, there's housing estates nearby who hear all this noise," a spokesperson for Eden Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) said.
"Depending on the level of ASB," the spokesperson said, "a warning letter may be issued in the first instance.
"Otherwise, vehicles can be uplifted through Section 59 of The Police Reform Act" which addresses "careless and inconsiderate driving that causes, or is likely to cause, alarm, distress or annoyance."
