Cumbria Police reveal today's speed camera van locations

POLICE will be monitoring drivers' speeds on a number of roads in the west, south and east of Cumbria today, using Road Safety Camera Vans.

In West Cumbria, speed camera vans will be in operation in Salterbeck, Workington and Distington and on the A595 between Workington and Thornhill.

On the motorway, Road Safety Camera Vans will be in operation between M6 Junction 38 and Junction 36.

The speed camera vans will also be operating on the A6 between Penrith and Kendal.

Camera vans are used to catch and deter speeding on the county's roads, with the overall ambition of reducing the number of serious and fatal collisions in Road Traffic Accidents.

Cumbria Police is one of the forces across the country participating in Vision Zero, an ambition to completely eliminate fatalities and serious injuries on the country's by 2040.
