A London park worker with learning difficulties has been awarded £550,000 in compensation for disability discrimination. It was found he was unfairly dismissed by his employer when it was found that they discriminated against him in the way they selected personnel for redundancy.
The worker is 34 years old has been awarded loss of earnings until retirement!
Lesson for the day - employers should never under estimate the extent of their potential liability when employing people!
