Thursday 24th July, 2008 Pat Rushton of Ulverston Gardners Society, Angela Knowles of Furness Tourism Partnership, David Parratt our Town Clerk and myself set off from the Town Hall to tour the town. We were judging the Charter Flower Competition.
The sun was shining as if to show off the blooms to their best and as usual it was a very difficult job to choose the winners.
The winners were as follows (1) Charter Trophy - Hartleys Brewery, (2) Ralph Spours Trophy - Irvings the Butchers, (3) Town Mayor's Trophy - No 34 The Gill, (4) South Lakeland Tourism Partnership Trophy - The Rose and Crown, (5) The Mayoresses Trophy - Mrs. Layfield, Grassmere Road and (6) The Trafalgar Trophy - Mrs. Lindow, Ulverston Town Centre.
The Trophy's will be given to the winners on the opening day of our Charter Festival in September.
