AN EDEN MP is supporting a Parliamentary Motion which further condemns the proposed closures of hundreds of post offices throughout the country.
According to MP for Penrith and the Border David Maclean the consultation procedure in the run up to the post office closures was “an absolute sham”.
“The Post Office should be calling for a proper restoration of their services – they should be fighting for the Post Office Card, fighting to get back television licences, fighting to keep the work the Government has siphoned off. That is the future of our post offices, not doing a Government closure plan,” said Mr Maclean.
