A real challenge – Last Friday I had an unusual journey out of Kendal whilst being filmed by Border TV!

Cate, a very brave lady (if not a little mad) is cycling a rickshaw from Kendal to London to raise funds for Oxfam! She is making her way down over a two week period and you can catch her progress on her Blog site :-http://www.blog.co.uk/register/register.php?invid=8f63c62c872195bee5d2e977a9da35c5 Please follow her as she goes and even egg her on her way a little with your comments.

Last Saturday I met some very nice people from an unusual organisation for our part of the country – The Rubber Stamp Manufacturers Guild.

They came to Kendal for the first time, to celebrate their 70th anniversary with an away weekend.

The event was hosted at the Castle Green Hotel, most of the various Rubber Stamp company’s representatives arriving on the Thursday before and staying until Sunday. They managed to visit local attractions, enjoy our Town, try Kendal mint cake for the first time, I believe they enjoyed their stay so much they are going to come back again next year.

A couple from Chicago came along to the event from a Rubber Stamp trade magazine; I am looking forward to seeing a copy of the article mentioning the event and the Town. I will let you know what they thought when my copy arrives through the post.
