YOUNG singers from the Eden Valley have been entertaining holidaymakers to the area.

Primary school choirs from Long Marton and Warcop have been among the young people invited to sing at Centre Parcs Whinfell Forest resort in the run-up to Christmas. And, as the Long Marton performance was on the same day as a national charity for young people, the children were not only singing but also managed to raising money for the good cause at the same time.

Head teacher Rachel Smith said: “They sang a range of songs for two hours. As Centre Parcs has now miraculously changed into Lapland, the choir also included a range of carols in their repertoire.

“As the event also coincided with Children In Need - Centre Parcs donated £150 to the school to forward to the charity. After their singing session the children enjoyed a buffet lunch and use of the facilities
