Hope you all had a good Christmas break, with lots of good food and long walks. We had a great time with Archie and Lilly and I really enjoying the frosty weather. But it also meant that the ground was very hard when we chased each other around the garden.

We went up to High Dam and walked around the frozen lakes but we didn't go onto the ice just to make sure we were safe. There has been lots in the news about dogs going onto the ice and owners going after them so we didn't want to get into that sort of a fix. There are always loads of dog friendly people at High Dam on the walk and also in the car park and as the ground wasn't muddy there were no muddy paws when we jumped up to say hello. I know we shouldn't but we get so excited that it feels the best way to say hello sometimes. Rose is trying to train us out of it - I think she needs to try a bit harder if she really wants to make a difference - we know she isn't really that bothered so we do it anyway. But its not good for little and old people so I think we do need to sort it out.

We had great feedback from everyone who had a turkey from the Cowran Estate nr Pennington where Jonah the German Short Haired Pointer lives. But I didn't even get a small titbit, I think Rose was a bit mean!

Jonah emailed me to say that they have had several litters of piglets - I think its three sows who have little ones - they are all growing fast so if you want to go and see them you had better be fast - because they won't be little for long!

Jonah is really excited about the new shop they are opening with Free Range and Rare Breed Meat and Eggs for sale and when you have done your shopping you can visit the piglets. Jonah had got his hopes up that he was going to have some peace and quiet when they sold the turkeys and geese, but no, because the pigs don't stop having babies! Everyday loads of new people come and help out at the farm at the Cowran Estate and Jonah loves all the attention that he gets. Their new website will be up and running soon so when it is I will put the link onto the blog.

Why don't you go and see Jonah this year and buy some of the local free range best quality meat from their new shop at the same time!
