SUSTAINABLE businesses acoss Cumbria are to be championed at an environmental award ceremony.
The Northwest Business Environment Awards 2009, to be held in June, showcases the companies that display the best environmental management and leadership.
Steven Broomhead, chief executive at the Northwest Regional Development Agency, said: “Now in its seventh year, the Northwest Business Environment Awards always showcases the region’s very best professional organisations as well as the finest businessmen and businesswomen who excel in environmental management and leadership.”
Categories include Best Environmental practice, Built Environment, Sustainable procurement, Environmental Innovation and Environmental Champions.
Environmentally conscious firms have until February 2nd to entre the awards.
