SCHOOL children's lives are being put at risk, according to the staff and parents of a South Lakeland primary school.
Concerns have been raised about traffic and parking issues on Vicarage Drive, Kendal, which it is claimed are a result of the works at Kendal College.
Anne Hallam, head teacher of Vicarage Park C of E Primary School, said that there was such a backlog of traffic one day that a motorcyclist drove along the pavement.
"It simply isn't safe," she said. "Parents have asked me can their children cycle to school and I've said absolutely not."
