THE clock is ticking on a public consultation that could lead to a dramatic increase in the size of South Lakeland's key settlements over the next 16 years.

Residents in the district have a few weeks left to express their views on a formal document detailing suggested sites for thousands of new homes.

The Allocations of Land Document outlines how towns like Kendal, Ulverston, Grange, Milnthorpe and Kirkby Lonsdale will need to grow beyond their existing boundaries if a sustainable future is to be achieved.
