ARNSIDE and Silverdale will be going green with a climate change event at the end of the month.

Local climate change organisation Local and Effective Sustainable Solutions (LESS) will host Connect to Your Carbon on January 31 at the Arnside Educational Institute.

In the afternoon, from 2pm-5pm, there will be advice from local organisations where eco enthusiasts can find out about renewable energy systems, how to insulate your home and cut your bills.

Then, at 7pm, there will be a talk about climate change, its effects on the area and how you can reduce your carbon footprint as part of the Arnside Educational Institute AGM.

Norman Hambley, Vice Chairman of the Arnside Educational Institute said the Institute has used money from a sustainable development fund grant from Arnside and Silverdale AONB to installed solar panels to produce electricity and reduce its carbon footprint.

“We hope this event will give others the motivation and the information they need to cut the energy use in their homes, saving money and carbon emissions.”
