In a landmark ruling the Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) has ordered a claimant who was found to have fabricated a “deliberate and cynical lie” in claiming that she had been named a “black bitch” by the new management at the Nursing home where she worked, to pay an estimated £25,000 in costs.
This is a clear sign that those seeking to bring false claims in the employment tribunal should think long and hard before doing so for fear of being found out and being landed with a hefty bill for the privilege!
