A COLLECTION of miniature toys made a big impact at a North Yorkshire auction, with sales totalling over £100,000.
Divided into 300 lots, the collection of Denby toys included military figures, tinplate toys, model trains and other Continental lead and composition figures.
Buyers from around the globe competed throughout all sections in the room, on the phone and through live Internet bidding to push up prices on key items such as a boxed set of Britain’s Mammoth Circus figures, which fetched £900, and a fine quality early chain driven wooden pedal car from 1913, which sold for £4,200.
The sale took place at the Tennants Auction Centre in Leyburn on June 13.
