NO WAITING restrictions are to be imposed on Shap Road, in Kendal, to deal with parking problems at Westmorland Car Sales.
Cumbria County Council's South Lakes Area Committee agreed to traffic regulation orders banning parking outside the garage because of what it described as persistent problems. Westmorland Car Sales objected, claiming its business would be discriminated against, but the committee agreed to make the traffic regulation order. CCC area engineer Nick Raymond said: "We have been unable to deal with this parking problem in any other way."
No waiting will also be introduced on Milnthorpe Road close to Vicarage Drive in Kendal and on Glebe Road for 15 metres from its junction with Milnthorpe Road.
The 20-minute waiting period at Canal Head North is to be removed. Waiting will be limited to one hour, Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm on Parkside Road near the United Utilities depot. Parking will also be prohibited at Bridge Lane to help the North Eastern and Cumbrian Co-op with its new funeral home business at Aynam Lodge.
