VILLAGERS are gearing up to stage their first ever walking festival which will celebrate the stunning views which surround their home.
Organisers of Grizebeck Walking Festival, from Friday, September 4, to Sunday, September 6, hope to introduce ramblers from further afield to the “hidden delights of the area.”
It is based around The Greyhound Inn, which was saved from closure earlier this year when the local community took it over and turned it into a successful venue with quizzes, live music, lunches and more.
Most walks will start from the front of the Greyhound, but some will go further afield, to Coniston and Black Combe, and there will be a visit to Duddon Mosses Nature Reserve led by a warden from Natural England, plus live music in the pub.
