AN EDEN hotel has been shortlisted for a prestigious travel award.

The 11-bedroom Augill Castle, at Brough, is in the running to win the Boutique/Individual Hotel of the Year award at the British Travel Awards.

Owner Simon Bennett, who has run the hotel with his wife Wendy for 12 years, said: “What we are aiming for is to put the true meaning of the much misused word hospitality at the top of our agenda, and that is what makes all the difference to our guests.

“Augill Castle is a place for people who are looking for somewhere to stay with that extra touch of magic.”

The hotel has already won a Gold Award for excellence this year from Visit England for Best bed and Breakfast in England.

The winner of the award will be announced at a gala dinner in London in November.
