ORGANISERS of a school reunion are trying to find 14 missing classmates to make sure they have a full register for the special get-together.

The meeting will mark 50 years since the group of ex-pupils at Ulverston Grammar School - now Ulverston Victoria High School - left for pastures new, and more than 60 people have already been traced.

They will meet for a buffet supper at The Bradylls Arms in Bardsea, near Ulverston, on Friday, September 4, at 7pm.

Harold Wilson, who was known as ‘Gabby’ to school pals, has travelled over from Montreal, Canada, especially for the event.

He said: “I have fond memories of school life. I am looking forward to seeing some old faces, but we just hope we can find the rest of them. We all started school in 1952, and though this reunion marks the 50th anniversary of us leaving, there will be some who left school before 1959.”

The full list of people who have not been traced is as follows: Anne Phizacklea; Fay Charity; Marjorie Stephens; Ruth Alexander; Freida Woodburn; Anne Bridget; Pat Hodgson; Anne Broughton; Alistair Steeple; David McCready; Kenneth Lancaster; Peter Dixon; Barry Dixon; David Blackburn and Stephen Mills.
