LAKELAND-based TV adventurer Paul Rose is to make a follow-up documentary to his hugely successful Oceans series.
The diver and former vice-president of the Royal Geographical Society revealed the BBC had commissioned a second marine exploration series – this time focusing on the seas around the UK.
Mr Rose, who works for Impact International in Windermere, said he hoped to begin filming the four one-hour programmes this winter, after he returns from leading an expedition to the Galapagos Islands.
He said: “It’s going to be a big project and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Mr Rose has tested the seas around Britain already this month, taking part in the prestigious Fastnet race.
He joined the crew of the Polar Bear along with Windermere-based David Taylor, who paid £3,000 for the privilege after making an auction bid to join the race. The yacht came in the top third of finishers and helped raise thousands of pounds for charity.
