A KENDAL teen proved a passion for science and a head for business is the perfect formula for exam success.
Kirkbie Kendal pupil Josh Ward, 16, achieved As and A* in all but one of his GCSEs, despite throwing himself into extra-curricular activities.
One such activity was the Young Chamber of Commerce, where Josh demonstrated his enterprising skills as group chairman, co-ordinating business lunches and events with local companies.
Josh said he was delighted with his results and happy to be staying at KKS for his A levels.
“I am going to do maths, biology, chemistry and physics,” said Josh. “I am not sure what I want to do when I finish yet. I like business but I really enjoy science so I think I want to do something related to that.”
Head teacher, Phil Hyman said Josh was one of many KKS students to successfully combine academic commitments with sport, creative pastimes and voluntary work.
“It has been a very good year group in terms of getting out into the community and being helpful,” he added.
